I haven’t written any poetry in a while so I figured I would draft some in real time on the blog:

Things aren’t funny

They want you to think that things are funny

But when’s the last time anything was funny?

I remember some funny things

They’re all weird

Nothing normal is funny

Normal is a pop-up ad

Normal is an old guy in and Oldsmobile

Normal are two very similar things

Nothing is that funny

Normal is a French terrace

Having breakfast in the sun

And your eggs are runny

Here comes the art thief

He says in broken English:

Things aren’t funny

I don’t have any idea what it means. I just let it flow. Let me know what you think in the comments section. Perhaps it’s an allegory?

  1. Perhaps your subconscious is telling you that you are taking life too seriously; or that we need to take life more seriously. I read this after having read an article about Donald Trump and the American Election and it fit that scenario for me.
