I went running and my knee didn’t hurt! 4 miles.
For my more recent readers, the reason I started this blog – or at least a sort of catalyst – was a marathon that I attempted this May. I trained for 6 months and then developed tendinitis in my knee about two weeks before the marathon. I tried running it anyway. I iced my knee, taped it up, etc. But I didn’t finish.
That was a humbling experience. What I’d been picturing all those months, on long runs especially, didn’t happen. It would be an understatement to say I felt like a failure. But it was the catalyst to start writing this blog, and write more in general. Never waste a disappointment.
My run today was slow. 12 minute miles. But I had no pain.
I’m going to get that marathon.
I’ll train smart.
