Yesterday was a rough transition day back to work. My motivation levels were abysmal. I could not move any productivity forward. I did the work I needed to do, but I didn’t feel good about it. Usually when I work I feel a fire in my loins. An excitement.

Last night wife and I watched 10 Things I Hate About You. Pure 90s nostalgia. The Barenaked Ladies’ One Week was the first song on the soundtrack.

Then Beckett started crying and wouldn’t stop crying. He wanted to be put into his swing to sleep but he’s been sleeping in his swing so much he won’t sleep anywhere else so we’ve been limiting his time in the swing. He wailed louder than I’ve ever heard. We laid him down in his bassinet and he wailed so long and loud he started sweating.

I held a pacifier for him and sang him songs and he started to settle down. I sang Rainbow Connection. He also really likes the Gran Torino Theme Song. Slowly he drifted off. I tiptoed out of the room and shut the door very quietly.
